Family Dollar announced a $1.3 million donation to Boys & Girls Clubs of America as part of their ongoing national partnership. The partnership aims to empower young people to positively impact their communities by providing them with resources, support, and opportunities. Since 2014, Family Dollar has raised over $6 million for the organization through corporate donations, in-store campaigns, brand partnerships, and employee giving.
For 2023, the focus is on the Think, Learn, Create Change (TLC) platform, designed to empower Boys & Girls Club members to become change agents in their communities by creating and implementing their own advocacy projects. The program challenges youth to think about positive change, learn how to educate themselves on issues, and create change by identifying tactics, implementing plans, and driving change in their local communities.
Family Dollar will support Boys & Girls Club youth and staff advisors in presenting their advocacy projects to peers during the Summit for America’s Youth event in Washington, D.C. SAY offers teens, alongside their mentors, an opportunity to hear from inspirational leaders, explore government and public service careers, and connect with fellow Club youth advocates from across the country.
Family Dollar believes that every child deserves access to meaningful opportunities to reach their full potential, and Boys & Girls Clubs provide just that. They encourage associates and vendors to volunteer and donate to the program. Family Dollar shoppers will be able to follow the youth advocates’ journeys and the culmination of their local advocacy projects through impact stories shared from Boys & Girls Clubs nationwide.
